Boston Choral Ensemble celebrates Pride 2022 with Sing We Our Tomorrow, a stirring musical and spoken-word program exploring LGBTQIA+ identity in a journey through history.

The concert will feature music by LGBTQIA+ composers including Mari Esabel Valverde, Michael Bussewitz-Quarm, Joan Szymko, and David Brunner that speaks to themes of struggle, solidarity, transformation, and community. In addition to choral works, the performance will include a timeline of highlights in LGBTQ+ history in America and readings from historical and contemporary LGBTQIA+ writers, leaders, and allies to uplift the experiences of marginalized groups and shine a light on past and current matters related to social justice and diversity.

Sources and further reading will be supplied in a digital bibliography accessible after the concert via a web link and QR code provided in the program.

Ticket Information

For this concert, we have a special ticket offer for families and groups. For parties of more than 2 people, the first two tickets are on sale at the regular price, and additional tickets can be purchased at a lower price of $5 each.

Ticket pricing:

  • Adult - General Admission: $25 advance online purchase ($30 at the door)

  • Adult - Student/Senior: $15 advance online purchase ($20 at the door)

  • Children: $5

 

COVID-19 Safety Precautions at BCE Concerts

BCE will always prioritize the safety of our singers and audience members. To maximize everyone’s safety and enjoyment at the Holiday Concert, the following policies will be in place:

  • Masks: First Church Cambridge requires universal masking. Please bring a mask that you can wear comfortably for the duration of the concert. (BCE will also provide masks if needed).

  • Vaccines: All audience members ages 12 years and older may be asked to show proof of full vaccination against COVID-19, or to show a negative Covid test result from the past 72 hours. (Rapid and PCR test results are accepted). Children between the age of 2-11 are encouraged to be vaccinated or to show a negative Covid test result from the past 72 hours.

  • Physical Distancing: We encourage our audience members to take advantage of First Church Cambridge’s large and beautiful sanctuary space. Please sit with your group of family and friends at a friendly distance from other audience members.

  • Stay Home If You’re Sick: If you are feeling at all sick, please stay home. You can request a full refund for tickets that you are unable to use due to illness.


Content warnings: in discussion of the struggles faced by members of the LGBTQ+ community, there are mentions of and statistics regarding: transphobia and trans misogyny, homophobia and heterosexism, occurrences of violence.
