BCE kicks off our 2022/23 season with a hyper-local tour of Boston on November 5!

Join us at one of three free-to-all pop-up concerts in some of Boston’s favorite spots. No need to buy tickets: just show up and enjoy!

The 30-minute family-friendly program celebrates Boston’s diverse community with music from around the world. Pieces include Shawn Kirchner’s joyful arrangement of “Unclouded Day” by J.K. Alwood, the transcendent “Muusika” by Pärt Uusberg, and Eric Whitacre’s musical setting of the beloved bedtime story “Goodnight Moon”.

Fenway Community Centers serves as a gathering place to share information, deliver programs, and provide services that enrich the lives of all Fenway residents. In addition to being a neighborhood gathering place, the Fenway Community Center provides programming for all ages in arts, wellness, enrichment, and civic engagement.

1:00PM - Jamaica Plain Branch Library

The renovated Jamaica Plain Branch of the Boston Public Library is a space for the community to read, browse the book collection, access computers, attend and host meetings, and participate in programming. The branch holds a large collection of local history books, local poets' works, books for all ages, classic American and foreign DVDs, and children’s picture and chapter books. The children’s room has a collection called “Picture Peace,” which contains books on peace, respect, and creative conflict resolution. The branch also houses a collection of adult and children’s Spanish language materials.

Established in 1848, the Boston Public Library was the first large free municipal library in the United States, the first public library to lend books, the first to have a branch library, and the first to have a children’s room. The Central Library in Copley Square encompasses two buildings, both landmarks. The historic McKim building is known for its classical serenity and elegance, as well as the magnificent Bates Hall reading room. The Boylston Street Building is a 21st century library space featuring a broadcast studio and innovation center.

BCE will perform in Deferrari Hall in the Boylston Street Building at 3pm.
