Sharing Immigrant Stories Through Music

A choral collaboration between the Minneapolis Choir Co-Op and the Boston Choral Ensemble.

My Journey, Yours weaves the experiences of immigrants into music and stories: songs they bring from their homelands and their journeys of starting anew. Boston Choral Ensemble first performed this program in Boston last March. The response was so enthusiastic, that BCE is bringing this program to other cities, starting with Minneapolis-St. Paul, in collaboration with the Minneapolis Choir Co-Op.

The songs in this concert are all by contemporary immigrant composers or are based on texts by contemporary immigrant writers, allowing us to connect with these vital perspectives in a personal way. Stories from local Twin Cities immigrants and from our community partner COPAL (Comunidades Organizando el Poder y la Acción Latina) add compelling details and help connect the music to the immigrant communities in Minneapolis-St. Paul.

General Admission, $20 | Students + Seniors, $15 | Children, $10

We don’t want cost to be a barrier for people to experience this music, so we have the option of pay-what-you-can tickets for both performances. Simply reserve the number of tickets you want, and input whatever contribution towards them feels right to you.
