The Boston Choral Ensemble proudly announces its 2nd Annual Commission Competition. In Fall 2009, our Competition Jury will select a composer based on a portfolio of three representative works and a new work proposal. The selected composer will be commissioned to write a piece for live recording and two performances during our Spring 2009 concert concluding our 8th season. The winner will also receive a US$1,300 cash prize.
Rules for the competition are listed here but the following key points are provided to summarize the information for applicants:

Application packets must be postmarked no later than Wednesday, September 24th, 2008. |
| Award |
One winner will be selected to receive the following:
- $1,300 in US funds
- Performance at two concerts
- Recording of both live performances
- Publicity related to the competition and concert

| Eligible Applicants |
All applicants are accepted regardless of race, color, national origin, religion, creed, age, sex, sexual orientation, marital status, disability, or veteran status |
| Required Items for Submission |
Only complete applications containing the following will be considered:
- 3 representative choral works, at least one a cappella
- A proposal for the new commission
- $25 application fee
- Application, proof of identity, short biography, and a works list
