Core Values

Community: In our performances, we create spaces for listeners to connect with music and ideas together. These performances are rooted in the support, respect, collaboration, and curiosity that we practice as a choir.

Innovation: Through inventive and thoughtful programming, we create new ways for people to experience and enjoy choral music, encouraging our audiences to rethink what a choral performance can be and how choral arts can positively influence the world.

Diversity: We believe that the world is a richer and more meaningful place when a multiplicity of voices is represented, and we aim to reflect that in our membership, repertoire, audiences, and broader community. In our performances we embrace music from many eras, cultures, and genres to develop a deeper understanding of our diverse world.

Aspiration: We challenge ourselves to take risks, encourage growth, and sing compelling music with skill and artistic expression.

Access: We strive to break down barriers to the choral arts, and actively explore ways to welcome to our performances a wide range of people in Greater Boston and beyond.

From Our Code of Conduct

We value the diversity of perspectives, thoughts, feelings, and experiences in our community. We believe we are a better choir and community when we can be vulnerable with one another and create an environment where everyone can bring their best, most authentic selves to our shared spaces.

We function as a healthy and supportive community through the shared trust of our members, which can only be cultivated by holding each other accountable. We commit to identifying and responding to incidents in which this trust is broken in order to address the harm committed and to prevent harm from happening in the future.
